Water Supply To Be Disrupted In Parts Of Hyderabad On January 3–4
According to HMWS&SB officials, the shutdown is required for rectification of leakages on the 1,600-mm diameter pumping main under Phase-III between chainage 120 and 475 from Peddapur to Singapur in the Peddapur section.
Hyderabad: The water board has announced an 18-hour shutdown of supply from 10 am on January 3 to 4 am on January 4, to facilitate repair and maintenance works.
According to HMWS&SB officials, the shutdown is required for rectification of leakages on the 1,600-mm diameter pumping main under Phase-III between chainage 120 and 475 from Peddapur to Singapur in the Peddapur section.
In addition, Telangana Transco will carry out maintenance works, including MRT testing of the 132 KV Peddapur feeder at the 132 KV substation in Kandi, along with attending to hotline remarks and general maintenance of the feeder.
During the shutdown period, there will be no water supply or low water pressure in several areas across the city.
The affected areas include Madhapur, Kondapur, Doyens section, parts of Madhapur and the Indian School of Business. O&M Division IX areas likely to face disruption are Bharathnagar, Moosapet section, Gayathrinagar section, parts of Balanagar, parts of KPHB and Balaji Nagar.
In O&M Division VI, water supply will be affected in Fathenagar, while in O&M Division XVII, Gopal Nagar, Hafeezpet section, Mayuri Nagar and Miyapur section will face disruption. O&M Division XXII areas include Pragathi Nagar section. Transmission Division II areas such as BHEL, MIG I and II, Rail Vihar, HCU and Chandanagar will also be affected.
