KARIMNAGAR: The MLAs of the erstwhile Warangal district met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Sunday and submitted a representation requesting a sports academy and a modern cricket stadium in Warangal.
The delegation included Naini Rajender Reddy (Warangal West), Kadiyam Srihari (Station Ghanpur), Revuri Prakash Reddy (Parkal), K.R. Nagaraju (Wardhannapet), and Yashaswini Reddy (Palakurthy).
The MLAs emphasised the need for a sports academy and cricket stadium in Warangal, the second-largest city in Telangana. Responding positively, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy directed officials to initiate the necessary procedures for the proposed projects.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rajender Reddy thanked the Chief Minister, stating that the establishment of a sports ground has been a long-cherished dream of the people of the tri-cities, Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Kazipet, which is now set to become a reality under the people’s government. He added that the two projects would significantly benefit the youth and help nurture their sporting talent.
MLA Kadiyam Srihari said the initiative is the result of the collective efforts of all MLAs from the district. He emphasised that the development is not confined to a single constituency or leader but is intended for the entire district, serving as a testament to the power of unity.
The other MLAs echoed the sentiment, stating that a dedicated sports academy and an international-standard cricket stadium would enhance Warangal’s standing on the national sports map.
