WARANGAL: Warangal collector Dr Satya Sharada conducted on Tuesday evening a surprise inspection of MGM Hospital following continuous complaints of negligence, including incidents of ceiling plaster falling on patients and attendants. She directed the hospital administration to address the lapses.

During her inspection, the collector checked the administrative sections, record room, laboratory and other departments. She verified the attendance registers and directed the MGM administrative officer to issue show-cause notices to officials and staff absent from duty without prior permission.

Dr Satya Sharada directed doctors, officials, and staff to attend their duties regularly and discharge their responsibilities effectively, as MGM is the major government hospital in the region catering to a large number of patients.

During her inspection of the record room, she directed officials to maintain records systematically and keep the premises clean. At the laboratory, she instructed staff to follow safety protocols and wear masks, gloves, and identity cards while on duty.

The collector stressed the need to reduce delays in laboratory services by replacing the manual slip-based system with an online programme to provide faster services to patients.

She directed security staff to perform their duties effectively and prevent stray dogs from entering the hospital premises.

Those present during the inspection included MGM nodal officer Harichandra Reddy, DMHO Rajireddy and DBCDO Pushpalatha.
