Waqf Board for Faster Nod on Umeed Portal
Telangana Waqf Board Chairman Azmatullah Husseni urged officials to prioritise the work and exercise caution while entering details of institutions, particularly large Waqf land parcels, given their legal sensitivity.
Hyderabad: Telangana Waqf Board Chairman Azmatullah Husseni has directed officials to expedite the checker and approval process of Waqf institutions on the Umeed portal, during a review meeting held on Wednesday.
The chairman reviewed the progress of registrations, discussed measures to overcome challenges in uploading data, and set timelines for completing the remaining properties. He urged officials to prioritise the work and exercise caution while entering details of institutions, particularly large Waqf land parcels, given their legal sensitivity.
Husseni also instructed the formation of district‑wise teams for the erstwhile 10 districts. To assist stakeholders in registering institution data, the Board will reopen the Umeed portal help desk at Haj House.
He stressed the need for awareness campaigns to help custodians protect religious institutions and avoid legal disputes, reiterating that effective implementation of the portal is crucial for transparency and proper management of Waqf properties in the State.
The meeting was attended by Waqf Board members Syed Akbar Nizamuddin, Syed Abul Fateh Bandagi Badesha Quadri, and chief executive officer Md. Asadullah among others.
