Vijay Devarakonda, Prakash Raj Appear Before SIT in Betting App Case

The SIT recorded Deverakonda’s statement on the remuneration and commissions taken from betting apps.

Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda on Tuesday appeared before the special investigation team (SIT) at CID office and was questioned for over one and a half hours in the betting apps case, police said on Tuesday.

The SIT recorded Deverakonda’s statement on the remuneration and commissions taken from betting apps. The actor left through the rear gate of the CID office. The CID had summoned the actors Deverakonda and Prakash Raj to appear before SIT-CID before 3 pm in connection with previous cases registered against them in various police stations.

Prakash Raj appeared for questioning after Deverakonda left. They are among 31 actors charged with promoting banned betting apps by the Enforcement Directorate in August.

The questioning follows a series of arrests made by SIT in six locations in Punjab, Gujrat and Rajasthan during the joint operation conducted by SIT in coordination with CID eight illegal betting organizers were arrested the teams collected crucial evidence linked to the banned betting app network.

“We summoned both the actors to appear in separate cases for questioning. We recorded their statements and the case is under investigation,” an official said.
