Vanasthalipuram Sub-Registrar, Adilabad Joint Sub-Registrar Held in Bribe Case

The ACB recovered the bribe amount from the possession of arrested persons

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday nabbed K. Srinivas Reddy, a Joint Sub-Registrar in the Registration and Stamps department in Adilabad district, when he demanded and accepted Rs.5,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour for registration of gift deed pertaining to the residential house of the complainant's wife on the name of complainant.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs.5,000 was recovered from the possession of Reddy, the ACB officials said, adding that Reddy performed his duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The officials produced Reddy before the special court for ACB cases in Karimnagar. The details of the complainant are withheld for security reasons.

In the separate case, S. Rajesh Kumar, a Sub Registrar of Vanasthalipuram in Ranga Reddy district, was caught when he demanded bribe Rs.1 lakh and accepted Rs.70,000 from the complainant through K. Ramesh of Nagole for showing official favour.

The bribe was demanded for the processing of the registration of the property of the complainant, officials added.
