Vanasthalipuram Police Book Cheating Case Against Pastor, Son
The police registered the case under provisions of BNS
Hyderabad: The Vanasthalipuram police booked a case against a pastor and his son for allegedly cheating and threatening a person promising him to cure his ear problem.
The police registered the case against the pastor of Gurramguda crossroads and his son under Sections 318(4) (Cheating), 115(2) (forfeiture of property), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) read with 3(5) of BNS based on a complaint lodged by Suroju Suman Varma, a video editor from Nalgonda district.
Varma first met the pastor at Gurramguda crossroads on May 3 to cure his right ear problem. After the pastor told him to return on May 10, Varma reached the pastor’s premises where the pastor's son asked him to pay Rs.12,000 to cure the problem.
When Varma said he could not get relief from the problem, the pastor’s son said the prayers were continuing. The pastor’s son asked Varma to return after a few days and assured to pay Rs.12,000. When Varma later questioned him to return the money, the pastor’s son beat him and threatened to kill him. On realizing that the pastor and his son cheated him, Varma lodged a complaint with the police seeking action against them.
