Unique Ganesh Pandals Draw Huge Crowds In Hyd
These pandals have become hotspots not only for devotion but also for social media influencers creating content: Reports
HYDERABAD: From a Ganesh idol at Chappal Bazar inspired by the S-400 air defence system that won glory during Operation Sindoor in May, to an ocean theme at Begum Bazaar, the laser-show Ganesh at Warsiguda, and the Swarnagiri Temple-themed pandal, youth organisations have come up with striking concepts this year.
These pandals have become hotspots not only for devotion but also for social media influencers creating content. The Khairatabad Bada Ganesh too continues to attract massive crowds, thanks to the weekend and the rain largely holding off.
The Balapur Ganesh Utsav Samithi modelled its mandap on a replica of the Swarnagiri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Yadadri district. The Balapur Ganesh is famous for the laddu auction.
Ch. Ranjith, a devotee from Saroornagar, who has been visiting Balapur Ganesh for about seven years, said, “Apart from the laddu auction, the organisers conduct excellent bhajans. This is a must-visit place for me during the Ganesh festival.”
Bingi Vineeth, another devotee, said he visited Balapur Ganesh on Saturday to experience the Swarnagiri-themed pandal. “The divine presence of Lord Ganesh here felt just like entering a temple,” he said. Given the large turnout, organisers have arranged special queues for the elderly and women with children. They expect nearly 2.5 lakh devotees to offer prayers over the weekend.
At Chappal Bazar, organisers installed a 20-foot Ganesh idol inspired by the S-400 defence system, honouring the courage and resilience of the Indian armed forces. “This idol has been a major crowd-puller,” said organiser Sirigiri Rahul.
In Warasiguda, the Netaji Shops and Welfare Association installed ‘Hyderabad Ka Raja’, a unique Ganesh idol accompanied by a laser show. The show features visuals of applying a tilak and ornaments to the idol. “Devotees can even see the Ganesh idol nodding during the laser show, which is presented daily between 7 pm and 11 pm,” said association member Dileep Kumar.
