Union Minister Bats For Quality Health Care For Tribals
Issue Aadhaar cards to all PVTG family members to facilitate access to central government welfare schemes: Harsh Malhotra
ADILABAD: Union minister for roads, transport, and corporate affairs Harsh Malhotra on Wednesday urged officials to provide quality health services to tribals by fully using funds under the National Health Mission. He emphasised that officials should conduct eleven diagnostic tests on Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) and treat their ailments under the PM Janman initiative.
The minister inspected the Primary Health Centre at Wankidi mandal headquarters and stressed that medical staff at PHCs and Anganwadis must ensure pregnant women undergo regular tests. He also visited the multipurpose community centre, built at a cost of ₹60 lakh in Limbuguda, Wankidi.
Harsh Malhotra directed officials to issue Aadhaar cards to all PVTG family members to facilitate access to central government welfare schemes. He toured the satellite primary school and Aadhaar centre set up for PVTGs in Sungapur, Tiryani, designated an Aspirational Mandal. District collector Venkatesh Dhotre reported that meetings had been held in 102 PVTG villages in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district to identify families lacking Aadhaar and NREGA job cards; efforts are underway to issue these documents and to enrol women in self-help groups.
Together with MLAs Kova Laxmi of Asifabad and Harish Babu of Sirpur (T), the minister distributed Aadhaar cards, job cards, birth certificates, and Jan Dhan accounts to beneficiaries in Sungapur village. He also visited the Khairiguda open cast mine near Goleti in Tiryani, inspected the district hospital, and interacted with patients undergoing dialysis. Additional collector Deepak Tiwari, tribal welfare officer Ramadevi, district welfare officer Adepu Bhaskar, panchayat officer Bikshapati, and DMHO Seetharao were present.
