Unhygienic Kitchen, Flies Found at ECIL Udipi Hotel; Rated Just 63%
The eatery received a hygiene rating of 63 per cent following the inspection
Hyderabad:Uncovered food, housefly infestation and unhygienic kitchen and storage areas were among the deficiencies found during a joint food safety inspection at Sri Guru Raghavendra Udipi Vegetarian in ECIL. Food safety officers from Kapra and Malkajgiri found semi-cooked food kept uncovered and without labels, besides food and vegetables stored directly on the floor. Spoiled and rotten coconuts were also found at the premises.
The inspection also found greasy and slippery floors, walls and exhaust systems, along with inadequate ventilation and dustbins. Washing and drainage areas were found to be unhygienic, while food handlers were found without proper protective gear or training. The officials also found that medical fitness and pest-control records had not been produced during the inspection.
