Udyan Utsav Returns to Rashtrapati Nilayam

Hyderabad: The second edition of Udyan Utsav will go on at Rashtrapati Nilayam until January 11, opening, the event being focused on agriculture, environment and citizen engagement.
The utsav will be open to the public free from 10 am to 8 pm at the Main Lawns of Rashtrapati Nilayam, with entry through Gate No. 2. Entry passes can be obtained online or at on-site kiosks.
The festival aims to bring together farmers, institutions, entrepreneurs and citizens around issues of sustainable agriculture, food systems and environmental awareness. The event is being anchored by the ministry of agriculture and farmers welfare, with implementation support from the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management.This year’s edition will feature 50 thematic stalls and around 120 exhibitors, offering visitors a closer look at agricultural innovation, value-added products and rural enterprises. Important zones include the Green Knowledge Hub showcasing farm technologies, the Millet Mandi and Startup Hub with nutritious products, the Eco Bazaar featuring organic and GI-tagged items and tribal crafts, and the Plant and Produce zone offering saplings and bio-inputs. The Farm-2-Enterprise zone will connect visitors directly with products from 59 Farmer Producer Organisations.A cultural programme has been planned alongside the exhibition, with daily performances of classical and regional dance forms, music concerts and traditional storytelling. Special focus is being placed on a Community Engagement Programme, with hands-on activities for children and young visitors such as pottery making, seed ball preparation, hydroponics demonstrations and interactive quizzes.
The festival will also host expert-led workshops and interactive sessions on natural farming, climate-resilient agriculture and millet value addition, with participation from national agricultural institutions.
Philately, My Stamp at India Post’s Udyan Utsav stall
The India Post will set up a stall at the utsav, featuring a philately exhibition and a My Stamp facility, besides booking services for pre-packed small parcels. India Post will also organise special programmes for children, including a “Write a Letter to the President” activity using postcards and interactive games.
In addition, awareness programmes will be conducted on departmental products related to mail and banking services that are useful for farmers, agri-entrepreneurs and institutions, along with information on Digi PIN.
