Two Tribal Girls Go Missing From School, Kidnapping Allegations Surface

WARANGAL: Two Class 10 tribal girls went missing from a government school at Mangalavaripet in Khanapur mandal of Warangal district a week ago, with allegations that they had been kidnapped.
Former sarpanch Bhukya Padmavathi Venkanna of the BRS alleged that the girls had been kidnapped and later attempted to take their own lives after suffering severe mental distress. She said they were undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Padmavathi alleged negligence by the school management and education officials and demanded a comprehensive inquiry and action against those responsible. She also urged the government to provide the girls with medical treatment and support their families.
School headmaster Manjula said the two students had attended school on Saturday and left later that day. Manjula said she had no information about their whereabouts after that. The school informed their mothers when the girls failed to return, she said, adding that both students had lost their fathers.
The circumstances surrounding the girls’ disappearance and the allegations of kidnapping are being investigated by the police and concerned officials.
