TTF Draws 150 Exhibitors, Targets Festive-Season Travel Demand
Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who inaugurated the fair, urged travel companies and hospitality businesses to explore investment opportunities in Telangana: Reports
HYDERABAD: With travel companies gearing up for the festive and winter holiday season, the 24th Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad opened here on Friday, bringing together more than 150 exhibitors from over 15 states and seven countries. The three-day event is expected to attract more than 5,000 travel trade professionals, including tour operators, travel agents and hospitality businesses.
“Travel to some parts of the world is disrupted at the moment, and Indian travellers have not stopped travelling. They are travelling within India and to short-haul destinations, and they are spending more when they do,” said Sanjiv Agarwal, chairman and CEO of Fairfest Media. “Hyderabad is one of the fastest-growing source markets in the South, and the trade here is buying for the festive and winter season right now.”
Tourism minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who inaugurated the fair, urged travel companies and hospitality businesses to explore investment opportunities in Telangana and develop attractive packages to bring more tourists to the state.
International participants include Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Maldives and Cambodia. The fair featured destinations, hotels, resorts and travel services catering to leisure, pilgrimage, group and corporate travel.
Krishna Rao also launched the Bathukamma festival poster.
Jammu and Kashmir, one of the partner states, was promoting lesser-known destinations and experiential tourism, such as Doodhpathri, Yusmarg, Gurez Valley, Warwan Valley and Bangus Valley.
An official of the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism told Deccan Chronicle that packages started at ₹12,999 per person, with customised options for different budgets. The department is also focusing on homestays, adventure activities, trekking trails, luxury packages and MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) tourism.
Although official figures for tourists from Telangana in 2025-26 were not readily available, the official said increased promotional efforts in southern India had resulted in a manifold rise in tourist footfall from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
The Kashmir Marathon has also emerged as a major event promoting the region's tourism potential, the representative said. The department expected the Hyderabad fair to generate more bookings, strengthen business-to-business partnerships and build long-term ties with travel companies in the two Telugu states.
