TRSMA Opposes Private School-Only Complaint Portal, Demands Common Grievance System for Telangana
The association said the department should strengthen these existing channels rather than create a separate portal exclusively for private schools.
Hyderabad:The Telangana Recognised School Managements Association (TRSMA) has objected to the school education department’s decision to restrict its online complaint portal to private schools and has sought a common grievance system for government and recognised private schools across the state. The department had announced the online private school complaint monitoring system (PSCMS) on August 20, to allow parent, students and members of the public to file complaints concerning private schools and track their status online.
“If an online grievance portal is beneficial to parents and students, why should that facility be restricted only to private schools,” the association questioned. It said parents in government schools could also have complaints about academics, sanitation, teacher availability, student safety, facilities and administration. The association also argued that private schools receive complaints through parent-teacher meetings, complaint boxes and internal grievance systems. Parents can also contact education department officials, depending on the issue.
The association said the department should strengthen these existing channels rather than create a separate portal exclusively for private schools. It also sought safeguards against anonymous, frivolous, malicious or repetitive complaints and said schools should be allowed to give their explanation before any adverse action is taken.
