Traffic Police Request Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited to Provide U-Turn Prior to My Home Avatar Junction
With high-rise residential and commercial developments coming up in the vicinity, traffic density in and around the junction had increased significantly, resulting in traffic congestion and frequent gridlock, particularly during peak hours.
Hyderabad:The underpass at My Home Avatar/NPCI Junction was catering to traffic movement towards Financial District, Nanakramguda and adjoining areas, according to a statement issued on Saturday.
With high-rise residential and commercial developments coming up in the vicinity, traffic density in and around the junction had increased significantly, resulting in traffic congestion and frequent gridlock, particularly during peak hours.
Due to the traffic pattern, vehicles travelling from the Right Side Road (RSR) towards the Left Side Road (LSR) were required to enter the main junction and negotiate the flow of vehicles, further contributing to traffic conflicts and congestion.
In order to address the issue and facilitate smoother movement of vehicles, the traffic police requested the Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a wing of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), to provide a U-turn facility prior to My Home Avatar Junction.
Accordingly, HGCL built the vehicular underpass at a cost of `2.2 crore. The facility enables vehicles to move from the RSR to the LSR through the proposed U-turn arrangement without interfering with the main junction traffic.
