Hyderabad: Amin Ahmed Ansari, a 6-foot-4-inch-tall bus conductor with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), has been granted relief after struggling to perform his duties due to his height. The low bus ceilings led to cervical spine issues, making his daily work increasingly difficult.

Ansari’s situation came to light after a photo showing him stooped and struggling to issue tickets during his 10-hour shifts — completing up to five trips a day — went viral on social media. The image drew public sympathy and brought attention to his plight.

Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar took note and directed TGSRTC officials on Monday to assign Ansari to a more suitable role. Sources said the management is planning to post him at the TGSRTC headquarters.

Ansari, who was appointed on compassionate grounds after his father — a conductor at Kachiguda depot—died in 2021, was posted at the Mehdipatnam depot after completing his intermediate education.

When contacted, Ansari declined to share further details but said he was happy about the reassignment. “I am thankful to the minister and the TGSRTC management for understanding my situation,” he said.
