NIZAMABAD: A large turnout marked the Veera Hanuman procession in the city on Thursday, with police deploying extensive security arrangements to ensure peaceful conduct of the event.

Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana Gupta inaugurated the rally at the Kantheshwar temple, where thousands of devotees gathered. The procession was organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad Hindu Sammelan and the Bajrang Dal Hanuman Deeksha Seva Samiti.

Devotees participated in large numbers despite the heat, with decorated idols forming a key attraction of the procession. Drinking water facilities were arranged at multiple locations along the route.

Police deployed around 1,300 personnel and maintained surveillance through CCTV cameras, drone cameras and binoculars. Personnel from multiple districts, including Nizamabad, Khammam, Rajanna Sircilla, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Mahbubabad and Asifabad, along with TSSP battalion forces and 20 special police units, were mobilised for bandobast.

Officials said the arrangements were aimed at ensuring smooth and incident-free conduct of the yatra.
