Hyderabad: The southern discom on Saturday unveiled its mascot at the inaugural of its three-day Power Exhibition here on Saturday. The exhibition showcases modern equipment, advanced technologies, consumer-centric services, electrical safety practices and the key achievements of the state’s power utilities. Apart from the mascot, the discom also unveiled brochures highlighting the utility’s reforms, consumer initiatives and range of public services.

Principal secretary, energy, Naveen Mittal lauded TGSPDCL’s initiatives such as “Walk Along the Line”, “Basti Bata” and “Praja Bata”, along with the expansion of consumer services and green energy programmes, saying these efforts were bringing power utilities closer to the people. The exhibition will be on till August 24, running from 11 am to 9 pm.

TGSPDCL CMD Jitesh V. Patil said the primary objective of the exhibition was to create greater public awareness about the power sector. He stated that the event offered a valuable opportunity for students, trainees, young engineers from ITIs and polytechnics, and technology enthusiasts to gain firsthand knowledge of power system operations, modern technologies, safety standards and consumer services.

Patil explained that the exhibition aimed to educate citizens about the vast technical infrastructure behind everyday electricity use in homes, industries and agriculture, as well as the dedicated efforts of utility employees and emergency response measures. He added that the event would play a key role in promoting electrical safety, preventing accidents, creating awareness about digital consumer services and showcasing the utility’s modernisation initiatives.
