Hyderabad: TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Jitender V. Patil, conducted a detailed field inspection on Monday at Vengal Rao Nagar–Kalyan Nagar under Jubilee Hills constituency, focusing on feeder-wise electrical structures and Structure Code-based consumer service billing.

During the inspection, the CMD interacted with operation and maintenance (O&M) staff, artisans, and Private Meter Readers (PMRs) to understand field-level operations, billing procedures, and issues being faced by the staff in the field.

He instructed officials to ensure that spot bills are generated strictly based on the correct structure codes, which would improve billing accuracy and enhance the efficiency and reliability of the power distribution system.

The CMD also visited several Distribution Transformers (DTRs) and reviewed the process of Structure Code-based consumer service mapping, data entry procedures during billing, field-level challenges, and the measures being taken to address them.

He stated that accurate mapping of consumer services at the DTR level would provide comprehensive information about the power distribution network, enabling faster fault identification, effective analysis of power interruptions, reduction of technical and commercial losses, and improvement in consumer services. He directed the officials to complete the mapping exercise with quality and speed.

Later, while participating in a safety awareness programme for line staff, the CMD reiterated that TGSPDCL accords the highest priority to employee safety. He emphasized that every employee working in the power sector must strictly adhere to all prescribed safety protocols.

He stressed that there should be no compromise in obtaining proper Line Clear (LC) permits before commencing work, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), ensuring proper earthing arrangements, and utilizing approved safety tools and equipment. Strict compliance with safety procedures, he said, is the most effective way to prevent electrical accidents.

The CMD further stated that the organization’s primary objective is to ensure that every employee performs their duties efficiently and returns home safely to their family. He urged all employees to make “Safety First” an integral part of their work culture and daily practices.

He reaffirmed TGSPDCL’s commitment to improving service quality, billing accuracy, consumer satisfaction, and employee safety with equal priority.
