Hyderabad: TG Northern Power Distribution Company Limited has intensified checks of electricity pole manufacturing units to ensure that they maintain proper standards. Northern discom chairman and managing director Karnati Varun Reddy visited the Swarna and Ujwal pole manufacturing units on Punnel Road in Warangal, as well as the Manchukonda pole unit in Bibinagar Guduru.

He checked the mix ratios of cement, sand, and other material used in pole manufacturing and verified whether the mixing adhered to prescribed standards.

The official instructed that curing must be strictly followed for the stipulated number of days as per regulations. He also oversaw a 'breaking test' to assess the load-bearing capacity of the poles and analyzed the results on the spot.
