TGHRC Takes Suo-Motu Cognizance of Ramanthapur Incident; Seeks Report from TGSPDCL CMD

Hyderabad: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), headed by Chairperson Dr. Justice Shameem Akther, has taken suo-motu cognizance of the tragic electrocution incident during the Krishna Janmashtami Shobha Yatra at Ramanthapur on Sunday midnight.
Five people lost their lives and several others suffered injuries in the incident.
The Commission directed the TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director to submit a comprehensive report by September 22 explaining the cause of the incident, accountability of officials, immediate remedial actions, compensation and rehabilitation to victims’ families, and long-term preventive safety measures.
