WARANGAL: The state government has sanctioned ₹5 crore for the construction of a new four-suite guest house and an R&B section office in Medaram village, Tadvai mandal, Mulugu district.

The order was issued on Sunday, marking a significant step towards the development of the Sammakka-Saralamma Temple in Medaram. The project will be overseen by the transport, roads and buildings department, and was approved based on a request made by panchayat raj minister Seethakka.

Local residents have welcomed the government's decision and credited minister Seethakka for her efforts in securing the sanction. The new guest house is expected to enhance infrastructure and provide much-needed accommodation for the millions of devotees who visit Medaram during the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara.

Minister Seethakka stated that careful planning is underway to ensure devotees face no inconvenience. She noted that the government has already allocated funds for essential development works, including drinking water supply, construction of toilets, electricity, and road repairs, in preparation for the upcoming Medaram Jatara, the largest biennial tribal fair.
