HYDERABAD: The state government has reported encouraging revenue growth over the past month, with several key departments showing steady upward trends. According to data presented at the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Revenue Mobilisation meeting held at the Secretariat on Saturday, the commercial taxes department posted a 1.8 per cent rise in earnings, the stamps and registrations department saw a 3.6 per cent increase and the mines department recorded the highest growth with a 7 per cent jump in revenue.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and finance minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and attended by ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, D. Sridhar Babu and Jupally Krishna Rao, members of the subcommittee.

During the review, Bhatti Vikramarka directed officials to expedite the relocation of polluting industries currently operating within the Outer Ring Road (ORR). He asked the departments concerned to frame clear guidelines, draw up a detailed relocation calendar and set a firm deadline for shifting these industries beyond ORR limits.

The committee also reviewed the progress of housing units under various phases of the Rajiv Swagruha scheme and examined vacant plots under the Telangana Housing Board. Officials were asked to ensure transparency in the ongoing public auction process and to prioritise affordable housing for the general public and middle-income groups.

Senior officials present included Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, finance principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, industries special chief secretary Sanjay Kumar, mines principal secretary N. Sridhar, metropolitan urban development secretary K. Ilambarithi, HMDA commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad, Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy collectors Dasari Harichandana and C. Narayana Reddy, TGTDC managing director Valluru Kranti and special secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister D. Krishna Bhaskar.
