Telangana: Welfare Schools PE Staff to Follow Common Time-table

Hyderabad: Physical education staff in all 205 institutions run by the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) will now be required to follow a common time-table without exception. The circular issued by TMREIS on Wednesday makes it clear that both physical directors and physical education teachers must conduct sessions every morning and evening on all working days.
The order comes in response to complaints from district sports coordinators, who reported that some principals were instructing staff to work only one shift per day. In some cases, one teacher was allotted to the morning and another to the evening, disrupting the uniform schedule the society had approved earlier. The department has now directed all regional level coordinators and principals to implement the instructions without any changes.
To support the system, the state has already sanctioned two posts in every TMREIS institution, one physical director and one physical education teacher. These teachers are expected to engage over 500 students across classes 5 to Intermediate second year in physical training, games and fitness routines. The objective is to help students build physical endurance, maintain discipline and stay alert through regular participation in sports.
The government has also laid stress on preparing students for sports competitions at the mandal, district, state and national levels. The circular reiterates that proper physical education is part of daily school administration and not an optional activity.
