Adilabad: Minister for labour and mines Gaddam Vivek on Wednesday criticised former MLA Balka Suman for making controversial statements and allegedly instigating cadre, and demanded that he apologise to the people of Telangana.
Speaking to the media after visiting the Tekumatla IKP paddy procurement centre in Chennur of Mancherial district, he said the remarks were an attempt to disturb peace in the state. He alleged that the statements reflected a tendency to target government institutions for personal gain.

He alleged that BRS leaders were provoking farmers against the government. Assuring farmers, he said procurement would continue till June 6 and that the government would purchase the entire produce. He said there was a high yield of paddy this agricultural season and asked farmers not to panic.
He added that the government had requested Singareni Collieries Company Limited to arrange lorries for transportation of paddy to rice mills and godowns.
