Telangana University Professor Authors Two Books On AI, Journalism
Prof. Ghanta Chandra Shekhar authored two books exploring AI applications, ethical challenges and its impact on journalism and public relations.
Two books authored by Prof. Ghanta Chandra Shekhar of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Telangana University were released by Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Yadagiri Rao and Registrar Prof. M. Yadagiri on Thursday.
The books, titled Beyond the Bylines – How the Journalist and AI Shape the News and Artificial Intelligence and Public Relations, examine the applications, impact and ethical challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism and public relations.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Yadagiri Rao said emerging technologies, particularly AI, were bringing significant changes to journalism and public relations. He appreciated the author for producing books that would benefit students, researchers and media professionals. He also stressed the need to provide quality academic material in higher education in line with technological advancements.
Registrar Prof. M. Yadagiri said the books would help enhance awareness of AI applications in journalism and public relations. He appreciated faculty members for contributing to research and academic writing alongside their teaching responsibilities.
Prof. Ghanta Chandra Shekhar said he had authored the books to provide relevant knowledge to students, researchers and media professionals as AI applications continued to expand across journalism and public relations. He stressed that technological advancements must be adopted while upholding journalistic values, professional responsibility and ethical standards.
