Telangana Talli: Harish Slams Telangana Government
Accusing Revanth Reddy of misleading people during the Telangana movement by refusing to resign and now attempting to distort Telangana’s identity as Chief Minister, Harish Rao added: “KCR symbolises struggle and sacrifice, while Revanth Reddy stands for betrayal and backstabbing,” Harish Rao said.
Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Tuesday severely criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for “imposing an unauthentic and emotionless” statues of Telangana Talli and said the removal of Bathukamma — a symbol of Telangana’s culture and pride — from the statue’s hand had robbed it of its very spirit.
“Revanth, who never once said ‘Jai Telangana,’ has no right to change the Telangana Talli statue,” Harish Rao said. The BRS leader, who was speaking at the ‘Vijay Divas’ celebrations at Telangana Bhavan, said December 9 marked the start of a golden chapter in Telangana’s history.
“The announcement of statehood on December 9 was a direct outcome of KCR’s indefinite hunger strike that began on November 29. If KCR had not risked his life, there would have been no December 9 declaration, and without that, there would be no June 2 State Formation Day,” he said.
He said that KCR’s hunger strike reduced his lifespan by a decade, but by God’s grace and people’s blessings, he is healthy and ready to fight again. “Under Revanth’s administration, Telangana is being pushed backwards once again. Revanth is walking the path of integrationists and weakening Telangana’s identity. But KCR will fight again. He will rise again. And he will become the chief minister again.”
