Revanth’s Singapore visit gets skill varsity deal
Hyderabad:Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday invited Singapore Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to support the government’s efforts to set up the Young India Skill University in Hyderabad’s Fourth City.
On the first day of the Singapore tour, the Telangana Rising delegation led by the Chief Minister visited the Singapore ITE, and explored its skill development courses in 20 sectors. Later, they held discussions with the top ITE officials.
Revanth Reddy briefed officials on the state’s Young India Skill University and requested the Singapore ITE to participate in skill development training.
The ITE delegation expressed its readiness to work together with Young India Skill University. Officials of ITE and Skill University signed a memorandum of understanding to work together in skill development.
The MoU was signed by Skill University Vice Chancellor V.L.V.S.S. Subba Rao and Singapore deputy director of IT education services Fabian Chiang on behalf of the ITE.
Minister D. Sridhar Babu explained how various courses were being conducted in accordance with the market demand to provide employment to the youth in various sectors.
The Chief Minister also held wide-ranging discussions with Singapore’s foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan, which focused on forging long-term partnerships covering infrastructure development, energy, sustainable green energy initiatives, water management, river rejuvenation, tourism, education and skills development, IT parks, and more.
Industries principal secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TGIIC MD Vishnuvardhan and CM’s special secretary Ajith Reddy were part of the delegation.
