Telangana Sizzles Under Severe Heatwave, Red Alert Issued

Hyderabad: Telangana is reeling under intense heatwave conditions, with scorching temperatures making life difficult for people across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the severe heat is likely to persist for the next four days and issued a red alert for extreme conditions.

According to officials, this is the first time such a high-level warning has been issued for heatwaves in the state. Districts including Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Khammam have been placed under red alert, indicating the possibility of extremely severe heatwave conditions.

An orange alert has been issued for eight districts—Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanamkonda—where severe heatwave conditions are expected. Meanwhile, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, and Jangaon districts are under yellow alert.

Authorities have urged people to take precautions, avoid direct exposure to the sun, and stay hydrated as temperatures continue to soar.
