Telangana Seeks Driving Training and Research Institute

According to the state transport department, Union minister Gadkari assured that the issues raised by the Telangana government would be positively considered and appropriate action would be taken.

 Hyderabad: Telangana has asked for a driving training and research institute (IDTR), during a meeting that transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar had with Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday. The proposal was taken up during the ministers’ conference and the transport development council meeting held at New Delhi.

Prabhakar submitted a detailed representation to Gadkari several key transport-related issues concerning Telangana. The primary demands included the establishment and Central support for a driving training and research institute, and the sanction of Rs 175 crore under social and sustainable capital (SASC) funds for the development of transport infrastructure. They also discussed the proposed amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act and their likely impact.

According to the state transport department, Union minister Gadkari assured that the issues raised by the Telangana government would be positively considered and appropriate action would be taken.
