Warangal: After a decade-long closure, the government primary school in Gujili Thanda, Kottur village of Sirole mandal, reopened on Saturday, thanks to the intervention of government chief whip and Dornakal MLA Dr Jatoth Ram Chander Naik.

The school was shut for years due to administrative challenges, forcing local children to seek education in neighbouring villages or private institutions. Efforts to reopen the school during the previous government failed due to lack of interest from local representatives and officials citing insufficient student numbers.

Recently, Sirole mandal Congress vice-president Malishetty Venu highlighted the issue to Dr Naik, who acted swiftly, involving education authorities. Following inspections and consultations with villagers, the necessary steps were taken to revive the school.

With over 15 students ready to enroll and infrastructure upgrades completed, the school reopened amid festive celebrations, with parents expressing gratitude to Dr Naik and the Congress government for fulfilling their long-standing demand.
