 Mahabubabad: A 70-year-old farmer allegedly died by suicide following a dispute over access to his agricultural land at Nerada village in Kuravi mandal on Tuesday.

The deceased, Mogilicherla Ramachandraiah, was reportedly upset after a pathway leading to his farm was blocked. According to his family members, fellow farmer Veeranna had earlier agreed to provide access to the land and accepted money for the purpose. However, he later returned the money and allegedly placed stone blocks across the pathway.

Ramachandraiah allegedly hanged himself from a tree near the spot where the stones had been placed.

Police shifted the body for postmortem examination. Kuravi SI B. Satish registered a case and launched an investigation.
