Telangana Retains 2019 Quota For Nalgonda Gram Panchayats

These seven gram panchayats did not go to polls in 2019 due to their merger with Nakrekal municipality. Following legal challenges by local leaders, the High Court restored their gram panchayat status

Nalgonda: Reservations for seven gram panchayats in Nalgonda district will remain unchanged for the gram panchayat elections scheduled for December 2025. The decision applies to Gollagudem, Nomula, Kadaparthi, Chandampally, Nellibanda, Thantikal and Chandupatla. The state government issued GO No. 42 to continue the reservation pattern fixed for these villages during the 2019 gram panchayat elections.

These seven gram panchayats did not go to polls in 2019 due to their merger with Nakrekal municipality. Following legal challenges by local leaders, the High Court restored their gram panchayat status. Since 2020, they have been under the administration of special officers.

The government has now decided to implement the 2019 reservation pattern for the upcoming elections.

The reservations are as follows: Chandampally — SC (Women), Nellibanda — SC (General), Gollagudem, Chandupatla, Nomula — General (Women), Thantikal, Kadaparthi — General.
