Hyderabad: IT and industries minister D. Sridhar Babu said the Telangana government was committed to transforming the State into the "Skill Capital of the Globe." Speaking at the inauguration of a mega job, skill and loan mela at PG Law College in Basheerbagh on Monday, the minister said the state had identified a clear gap between academic training and industry requirements and was actively working to bridge it under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.
“Our youth are Telangana’s greatest strength, but many still lack industry-ready skills. We are addressing this by designing curricula in collaboration with industry leaders and domain experts,” he said. He added that nearly 80 per cent of students trained through programmes at the state’s Skill University had already secured employment.
The event was jointly organised by the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship and the department of employment and training, Telangana. Union minister for skill development and entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary also participated in the event. Sridhar Babu urged the Union minister to extend support for the development of the State’s Young India Skill University and invited him to visit the campus. He also reiterated the State government’s willingness to work closely with the Centre to strengthen skill development across the country.
