Telangana: Polling Duties Carried Out Transparently
The collector emphasized strict scrutiny to avoid situations that may lead to tender votes. Any unnecessary mistakes during election duties could lead to serious problems.
Nizamabad: Training classes were held in the premises of the Nizamabad Mandal Parishad office for presiding officers attending the second phase of the Gram Panchayat election duties.
Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy has asked them that polling duties must be carried out transparently and efficiently. On Saturday, during his visit to the training sessions, the collector explained the precautions they should take while conducting polling duties.
He said every aspect must be examined carefully to ensure clarity, and that there should be no room for even minor errors. He advised the officers to thoroughly verify the voter lists and conduct the voting process strictly according to these lists.
They must also follow time discipline, reach the distribution centers and collect the polling material on time. As per the checklist, ballot papers and other materials should be checked thoroughly. After that, they should proceed to their designated polling stations and make proper arrangements for voting.
The collector said seating arrangements, the secret voting compartment, and all other setups must strictly follow election guidelines. Ensuring 100 per cent secrecy in voting is mandatory.
He clarified that voters can cast their vote by presenting any one of the 18 types of identification documents prescribed by the Election Commission, including Voter ID and Aadhaar.
Officials must ensure that the voter who receives a ballot paper at the polling station must necessarily cast it in the ballot box. Under no circumstances, even a single ballot paper should leave the polling station.
The collector emphasized strict scrutiny to avoid situations that may lead to tender votes. Any unnecessary mistakes during election duties could lead to serious problems, he warned.
Meanwhile, the training classes held at Dichpalli mandal center were attended by general election observer Shyam Prasad Lal. Local officials, Stage-2 returning officers and master trainers also participated in the training sessions.
