Adilabad: In the run-up to the upcoming local body elections, major political parties, BJP, Congress, and the BRS, are organising programmes focusing on public issues in the erstwhile Adilabad district. Leaders across the political spectrum are attempting to capitalise on key matters such as the podu land issue and GO No. 49 to gain voter support.

The BJP conducted training sessions for its mandal and division-level leaders from the erstwhile Adilabad, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, and Jagityal districts in Nirmal on July 26. The sessions focused on preparing party workers to face the local body elections strategically.

BRS leader Johnson Naik, who contested the last Assembly election from Khanapur, recently organised a mega job mela in Khanapur town to attract and engage educated unemployed youth.

Boath MLA Anil Jadhav of BRS also organised a similar job mela in Ichoda, aiming to build rapport with young voters and earn the goodwill of their families ahead of the polls.

On the Congress front, TPCC state vice-president Atram Suguna organised a mega job mela in Utnoor, likely to consolidate her political position in the constituency currently represented by MLA Vedma Bojju.

Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju stated that the BRS government is actively reaching out to the people through various welfare schemes, including the construction of Indiramma houses and the distribution of new ration cards. He expressed confidence that the BRS would sweep the upcoming sarpanch, MPTC, ZPTC, and municipal elections through the effective implementation of development initiatives.

Congress constituency in-charges are also engaging with beneficiaries of the Indiramma housing scheme, helping them secure free sand and bill approvals for house construction. They are compiling lists of eligible individuals seeking housing and submitting them to the concerned ministers and local MLAs for sanction.

Meanwhile, MLAs from all major parties are in the process of finalising the list of probable candidates for the upcoming local body elections.
