Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said that Telangana has nearly 30 lakh unemployed youth and large-scale private sector investments were essential to generate employment for lakhs of job seekers.

Addressing a meeting after inaugurating the manufacturing plant of Suzen Medicare at Maheshwaram on Friday, he said sustained job creation could only be achieved through industrial growth and private enterprise even though the Congress government had already filled more than 70,000 vacancies in the government sector in the last two years.

The Chief Minister said the state government was creating a strong, investment-friendly ecosystem by framing policies that inspired confidence among domestic and global investors.

He noted that Hyderabad was increasingly competing with leading global cities and that Telangana’s future growth would be driven by the CURE, PURE and RARE models outlined in the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision document. These models, he explained, encompassed the core urban region economy within Hyderabad and the Outer Ring Road limits, peri-urban region economy between ORR and RRR, and rural agricultural region economy beyond ORR covering all remaining districts.

Highlighting the broader development agenda, Revanth Reddy said the government aimed to position Telangana and Hyderabad on par with major cities in the developed countries by focusing on innovation, skill development and comprehensive education reforms.

He said Telangana is not competing with Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, or Tamil Nadu, and Hyderabad is not competing with other Indian cities. Revanth Reddy said Telangana is now competing with Germany, Japan, South Korea among others and Hyderabad is competing with New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Dubai and Seoul.

Revanth Reddy said the government will introduce a new education policy soon, which will be a key step in preparing youth for emerging global opportunities and ensuring that the workforce matches industry requirements.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s long-term economic targets, stating that Telangana was committed to achieving a one trillion US dollar economy by 2034 and expanding it to three trillion dollars by 2047 outlined in the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document.

Referring to Telangana's strengths, Revanth Reddy said Telangana accounted for about 40 per cent of the bulk drugs manufactured in the country, proving its leadership in the pharmaceutical sector. He said Hyderabad had emerged as a global hub for pharma and life sciences, with professionals educated in the city heading multinational corporations worldwide, which he described as a source of pride for the state.

He observed that three decades of sustained effort had enabled Hyderabad to compete with global cities and welcomed the establishment of the Suzen Medicare unit, which manufactures IV fluids using German technology, as a major milestone. The unit, he said, aligned with the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and reflected the state government's commitment to advanced manufacturing.

The Chief Minister said his government will develop Bharat Future City on the outskirts of Hyderabad, which will match global standards comparable with cities such as New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Dubai and Seoul.

Drawing a parallel, he said just as Jubilee Hills was seen as a status symbol today, Bharat Future City would be developed in a manner that instilled similar pride among its residents in the coming days.
