Hyderabad: Reiterating that the state government was according top priority for investments from NRIs, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday said that native industrialists and businessmen striking roots abroad must choose Telangana as their business destination for developing the state. The Chief Minister also called on the diaspora to contribute as much as they could to achieve Telangana’s development.

He noted that the government had examined the riverfront projects at the Hudson in New York, the Thames in London, the Cheonggyecheo in Seoul and Sumida Tokyo, and was building the Musi project for the development of Hyderabad. He said that Delhi was being paralysed by pollution, and there was a need to learn a lesson from such situations.

The Chief Minister said that projects like the Musi rejuvenation, Metro Rail expansion, developing the Regional Ring Road and radial roads were the most crucial aspects for the progress of Telangana. He said that progress had been made in sectors like IT and pharma, and development should be achieved in other sectors.

The Chief Minister sought cooperation in achieving the development of Telangana in a way that it can compete with the world. Representatives of the Japan Telugu Federation and expatriate Telugus settled in Tokyo participated in this programme.
