Telangana: Man Killed, Grandson Critical As Car Hits Bike In Suryapet

NALGONDA: A 60-year-old man died and his seven-year-old grandson was injured after a speeding car hit their motorcycle on NH 65 at Durajpally in Suryapet district on Monday, police said.
The victim was identified as Malleboina Pedda Saidulu of Kachavarigudem in Garidepally mandal. His grandson, Teja, suffered injuries.
Police said the accident occurred around 1 pm when Saidulu and Teja were on their way to Sri Lingamathula Swamy temple at Durajpally to attend a function. A car heading towards Vijayawada hit their motorcycle from behind. Saidulu died on the spot after suffering severe head injuries. Teja was shifted to a Hyderabad hospital for better treatment and his condition was said to be critical.
Chivvemla SI V. Maheshwar said overspeeding and negligent driving caused the accident. A case was registered against the car driver, who was taken into custody.
Saidulu’s body was shifted to the mortuary of Government General Hospital, Suryapet, for autopsy.
