Telangana: Man Hacked To Death Over Marital Issues
The dispute may be linked to the relationship between Venkateshwarlu’s daughter Ramya and Parameshwar’s son Vinay: Reports
HANAMKONDA: A forty-five-year-old man was hacked to death following a dispute linked to a love affair, near the village tank at Rampur in Dharmasagar mandal in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased was Poolu Venkateshwarlu of Chilpur village in Jangaon district.
According to Kazipet ACP Pingili Prashanth Reddy, Venkateshwarlu was called to a temple near the Rampur tank by Ambati Parameshwar and Sampath, both from the same village, on the pretext of discussing an issue. The three reportedly consumed alcohol before an argument broke out.
After midnight, Parameshwar allegedly attacked Venkateshwarlu with a knife, inflicting serious injuries that proved fatal. Police are investigating whether Venkateshwarlu was lured to the spot as part of a pre-planned attack.
The dispute may be linked to the relationship between Venkateshwarlu’s daughter Ramya and Parameshwar’s son Vinay. The two had married following a love affair, but later separated and began living apart. Their families recently came to know that the couple had resumed their relationship, police investigations showed.
Parameshwar had allegedly warned Venkateshwarlu to keep his son away from Ramya. Police suspect that the issue may have triggered an argument between the two men, eventually leading to the murder. The Dharmasagar police registered a case and launched an investigation.
