Telangana Leaders Honour PV Narasimha Rao on Death Anniversary

He said Rao’s contribution to national development and governance would always be remembered.

Hyderabad:Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and leaders cutting across party lines on Tuesday paid rich tributes to former prime minister P. V. Narasimha Rao on his death anniversary, recalling his decisive leadership and lasting contribution to the nation.

Revanth Reddy described Narasimha Rao as a visionary statesman who guided India through a challenging phase and laid a strong foundation for economic liberalisation. He said Narasimha Rao’s leadership ensured stability during difficult circumstances and ushered in far-reaching reforms that transformed the country’s economic trajectory.

Revanth Reddy said the former prime minister, a noted polyglot, writer and intellectual, symbolised India’s rich academic and cultural heritage. He added that Rao’s foresight and spirit of public service would continue to inspire generations.

Union minister G. Kishan Reddy offered floral tributes at PV Gyan Bhoomi at PV Marg (Necklace Road) in Hyderabad and recalled Narasimha Rao’s distinguished service as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, Union minister and Prime Minister. He said Rao’s contribution to national development and governance would always be remembered.

At the Assembly building, tributes were paid to Narasimha Rao’s portrait in the PV Lounge by Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, MLAs, MLCs, family members of the former Prime Minister and senior officials.

Sukhender Reddy hailed Narasimha Rao as an outstanding economist and reformer who served the nation with integrity, simplicity and intellectual brilliance, noting his command over several languages.

Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar described Narasimha Rao as an able administrator who led the world’s largest democracy with distinction and ensured India could withstand economic challenges through bold reforms.

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao, Narasimha Rao’s grandson and BJP leader N.V. Subhash, and other leaders also paid tributes at PV Gyan Bhoomi. IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu remembered Rao as a visionary who steered India through economic transformation, while BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao termed him the architect of modern India and a source of pride for Telangana.
