Telangana launches internship programme to bridge education-industry gap
Hyderabad:The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) has introduced an internship programme for students and young professionals. The initiative, announced on Thursday, aims to provide hands-on experience in policy-making, governance, and higher education management.
The programme, aligned with UGC guidelines, is designed to equip participants with practical skills like project management, policy analysis, and research. It seeks to address the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring graduates are prepared for industry challenges.
This initiative is said to be part of broader reforms unveiled by TGCHE, which include a major overhaul of the undergraduate syllabus. The revised curriculum would align with global standards and focus on employability, innovation, and practical skills.
Committees led by academic and industry experts are working to update the syllabus to meet contemporary demands, the notice said.
“These reforms aim to create a robust education system that prepares students for modern challenges like digital transformation and sustainability,” said TGCHE Chairman Dr. V. Balakista Reddy.
