HYDERABAD: Open plots in the Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Colony have once again fetched massive prices in the public auction, with one plot attracting ₹2.70 lakh per square yard, held here on Wednesday.

Housing Board vice chairman V.P. Gautham said while the minimum price was set at ₹1.60 lakh per square yard, one plot was sold for ₹2.70 lakh per square yard and another was purchased at ₹2.36 lakh per square yard. Two other plots were acquired in the auction at a rate of ₹2.06 lakh per square yard. The Housing Board generated revenue of approximately ₹47.14 crore through this public auction, he said.

According to officials, the average price per square yard in Wednesday's public auction stood at approximately ₹1.79 lakh. In response notification issued on August 10, a total of 19 bidders competed to secure their preferred plots in the auction, which was transparently conducted.

“Plots were well-developed, equipped with amenities and free from disputes,” they added.
