Telangana: JNTUH Engineering College Students Protest Over Hostel Facilities

The students boycotted classes and marched towards the district collectorate to submit a representation highlighting their grievances. Police intercepted them at Mudukotla Centre, following which the students staged a sit-in on the road and raised slogans against the college administration.

The protesters alleged that the hostel was facing an acute shortage of drinking water and claimed that nearly 30 students were sharing a single bathroom, causing inconvenience. They said repeated representations to the college authorities had failed to yield results.

The students demanded immediate restoration of drinking water supply and construction of additional bathrooms in the hostels. They warned that they would continue their agitation until their demands were addressed.

Several student organisations extended support to the protest and urged the authorities to resolve the issues at the earliest. Police were deployed at the protest site to maintain law and order.
