Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Wednesday was not inclined to suspend the CBI Court orders in imposing imprisonment to Gali Janardhan Reddy and others in the illegal mining by the Obulapuram Mining Company.

Justice Nandikonda Narsing Rao heard the criminal appeal filed by Janardhan Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, V.D. Raja Gopal and Ali Khan, who requested the High Court to set aside the orders of the CBI Court. In the interim applications, they requested the court to suspend the order of the CBI Court immediately, till the final disposal of the appeals by the High Court.

However, the judge was not inclined with the request of the counsels who appeared for convicts. The judge said that without hearing the contentions of the other side, cannot issue the orders. Further, the judge observed that it is not like any other regular bail petition and moreover, while convicting the appellants (Janardhan Reddy and three others), the CBI Court has passed several observations and enormous documents filed along with appeal.

“Without going into them, we cannot pass slip shot orders,” the judge observed. However, the court asking the contentions of the CBI on the appeals, adjourned the matter to May 28.
