Telangana High Court on Wednesday grant permission for BRS to hold Rythu Maha Dharna on January 28 at Clock Tower Centre in Nalgonda.

Hyderabad:The Telangana High Court directed the Nalgonda police to grant permission to the BRS’ protest programme, "Rythu Maha Dharna," scheduled on January 28. Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy instructed the sub-divisional police officer of Nalgonda to allow the political agitation with conditions limiting attendance to 1,500 persons and specifying a designated time period.

M. Roopender, counsel for the BRS Nalgonda unit, told the court that police had rejected an application for permission to hold the dharna on January 21 without providing reasons. He further stated that even after organisers postponed the programme to January 27, authorities remained unwilling to grant permission, allegedly due to directions from the ruling party.

During the hearing, the judge noted that the event must not hamper law and order or inconvenience the commuters.
