Hyderabad: The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) arrested 24 offenders for involvement in cyber child sexual exploitative and abusive material (CSEAM) cases and 10 mule account holders in a one-day statewide operation.
Among those held was a government employee working as a junior assistant in the irrigation department, identified as a repeat offender in three online CSEAM tipline cases. He was arrested following an FIR registered in Nizamabad.
TGCSB director Shikha Goel said 24 repeat offenders were found uploading, storing, and circulating sexually explicit content of minors. These arrests were linked to 91 cyber tipline complaints, resulting in 24 FIRs under the IT Act and 15 under the Pocso Act across TGCSB cybercrime police stations in the state.
The offenders, aged between 18 and 48, largely belonged to working and middle-class backgrounds, including the government employee. A significant portion of the seized content involved foreign victims aged four to 14 years, with nearly 90 per cent being girl children.
In a parallel crackdown, TGCSB arrested 10 mule bank account holders for facilitating cyber frauds. These accounts were linked to eight cases registered across CCPSs in headquarters, Warangal, Ramagundam, and Karimnagar. Investigations revealed 37 crime links across India, including 14 in Telangana, amounting to ₹26 crore involved in the cyber fraud transactions.
