Telangana Govt Releases Rs.365.75 Cr towards Pending Scholarship Dues
Despite financial constraints, the government will not compromise on education under any circumstances, Bhatti clarified
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has taken a key decision to release all pending dues in the welfare departments at one time. He decided that the bill arrears pending since the previous government’s tenure should be cleared in full.
He stated that the people’s government is taking decisions that benefit BC, SC and ST students. Despite financial constraints, the government will not compromise on education under any circumstances, he clarified. He emphasized that only through education can comprehensive and lasting change be brought about in society.
Regarding the arrears, an amount of Rs.365.75 crore pertaining to the BC, SC and Tribal Welfare departments was released on Monday evening by Finance Department officials, as per the orders of Bhatti Vikramarka.
In this connection, a review meeting was held on Monday at Praja Bhavan by the Deputy Chief Minister with officials from the Finance and Welfare Departments.
Of the total amount, Rs.21.62 crore was released to the BC Welfare department, Rs.191.63 crore to the SC Welfare department, and Rs.152.59 crore to the Tribal Welfare department. Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania and other officials participated in the review meeting.
