Telangana Govt Employees Will Get Rs 1 Crore Accident Cover, Says Bhatti
Deputy CM Bhatti announces major welfare boost for employees
Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Friday announced that the state government will extend an accident insurance cover of Rs 1.02 crore for government employees in the state.
Stating that the state government gives top priority to the welfare of government employees, Bhatti said that the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy considers government employees — who take various welfare and development programmes of the government to every household — as members of its own family.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that consultations with leading bankers in the state have been completed to operationalise the process related to the Rs 1.02 crore accident insurance.
He noted that, despite financial constraints, the government is releasing pending dues from the previous BRS regime in a phased manner on a regular monthly basis, keeping employee welfare as its core objective.
Bhatti recalled that accident insurance of more than Rs 1 crore has already been implemented for employees under Singareni, Transco, SPDCL, NPDCL and Genco.
Through the government-initiated accident insurance scheme of over Rs 1 crore, he said insurance coverage has already been extended to 38,000 regular employees in Singareni and 71,387 employees working in power utilities. On similar lines, he announced that an accident insurance cover of Rs 1.02 crore is now being implemented for government employees as well.
