Telangana Govt Deposits Rs 579 Crore Under Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Schemes
Hyderabad: The state government has deposited Rs 579 crore directly into the bank accounts of 6.87 lakh beneficiaries under the newly launched Rythu Bharosa and Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa schemes. The funds were transferred on Monday, a day after the official launch of four welfare schemes during the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday.
The financial assistance has brought happiness to the farming community and agricultural labourers across the state, with many beneficiaries receiving SMS notifications to their mobile phones about the credited amounts. The schemes evoked good response from recipients, highlighting the increased assistance under the Congress government's Rythu Bharosa compared to the Rythu Bandhu implemented by the previous BRS government.
The Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has set a new record by successfully launching four welfare schemes in 563 villages across all mandals on January 26. The schemes include financial assistance for farmers (Rythu Bharosa) and landless agricultural labourers (Indirama Atmiya Bharosa), issuance of new ration cards, the distribution of Indiramma Houses allotment documents, and the inclusion of additional family members in existing ration cards.
The government disbursed the amount through direct benefit transfers (DBT) to ensure transparency and efficiency in fund allocation.
Under Rythu Bharosa, Rs 6,000 per acre was disbursed as the first instalment of investment assistance for the ongoing rabi season. Over 4.41 lakh farmers benefited from Rs 569 crore transferred to their accounts on Monday. The assistance covered 9.48 lakh acres of agricultural land across 563 villages in 32 districts on Day 1.
Under Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa, landless agricultural labourers received first instalment of Rs 6,000 out of the total annual assistance of Rs 12,000. A financial aid of Rs 10.91 crore was transferred to 20,336 beneficiaries in 561 villages on the first day.
Around 15,414 new ration cards were issued in 531 villages, benefiting 51,912 members in these households. An additional 1.03 lakh family members were registered in existing ration cards, addressing long-pending requests. Under the Indiramma Housing Scheme allotment certificates were provided to 72,000 eligible beneficiaries, ensuring shelter for homeless families.
The simultaneous implementation of the four welfare schemes has been lauded as a major step toward improving the living standards of the rural population. The government’s focus on a swift execution is evident, with officials instructed to deposit funds promptly through the DBT mechanism.
Schemes have been met with widespread approval. Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the Congress government’s Rythu Bharosa offered Rs 6,000 per acre per season rather than the previous Rythu Bandhu of Rs 5,000 per acre per season implemented during the BRS regime.
